Oakley Baptist Church was founded over 90 years ago, and our membership is committed to service within our congregation and community. If you’re looking for a church, or an opportunity to serve, feel free to contact our office, or join us for a worship service.

OBC is sponsoring a Fairview family for Christmas, and we are accepting donations. Please label your envelope ‘Christmas‘ and make your check out to the church.

Sunday, December 8th at 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, we will continue Bible Study, “Encouraging Words in a Discouraging World” by Dr. David Jeremiah, and will continue the first Sunday of each month for ten sessions. Please join us.

Our Staff
John Alexander, Pastor
Pastor John Alexander was born and raised in Asheville, and he gave his life to Christ at the age of 13. He has an Associate of Religion/Church Ministries from Fruitland Baptist Bible College, a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University, and a Certificate in Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He married the love of his life Tonya on April 23, 2016 and they have two children, Sawyer and Lindsey.
Christie Rhom, Secretary
Christie was born and raised in Asheville, attending Grassy Branch Baptist Church and Reynolds High School. She has been the secretary at Oakley Baptist Church for over 20 years, and a member along with her husband Michael for over 30 years. She and Michael enjoyed watching their three girls grow up at Oakley, and are now the proud grandparents of two more girls.
Norma B. Carroll, Worship Leader
Norma grew up in Waynesville attending Allen’s Creek Baptist Church. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior when she was 10 years old. In her early teens, she felt God’s calling on her life and attended Piedmont Bible College. She and her husband, Rev. Homer Carroll live in Weaverville and serve the Lord together. God Brought them to Oakley Baptist Church in August 2007 where she serves as Worship Leader, Minister of Music, and Ladies Bible Study Leader.

Anna Taylor, Pianist
Anna is an Asheville native, and has served Oakley Baptist Church as the pianist since 2020.
Children's Programs
Oakley Baptist offers Sunday School classes for all ages, as well as a Youth Group for high school kids.
